Kevin Barry was 18 years old when he was hung in 1920. He was the youngest person to be executed in Ireland's history. His hanging caused outrage throughout Ireland and the world, including the Vatican. Following his execution he was buried in an unmarked grave in Mountjoy Prison. On 14th October 2001, Barry was exhumed from his grave and given a State Burial in Dublins Glasnevin Cemetery.
